PowerAid is an app that brutally awakes you in case of a power outage. If there is a storm coming or a big freeze is on its way, then you really need this app. Even if PowerAid awakes you just once, it will probably be your wisest investment ever.
Its really simple: Connect your device to a power adapter and start the app. Put the device to sleep. Thats it! If the power goes out, a really loud alarm goes off.
PowerAid may also be used as an anti-theft alarm if you are charging your iPhone in public places.
If the power circuit breaker trips or if there is a blackout whilst you are asleep, it can end up costing you thousands. Food worth hundreds in the freezer lost. Heating stops. Your baby or toddlers might freeze. The baby alarm stops working. Your saltwater aquarium gets ruined. Basement sump pump stops. The burglar alarm gets disabled.
This app has a VERY LOUD alarm signal constructed to awake even hearing impaired.

Saved my downstairs rec room. Woke me up in the middle of a rainy night when the power went off so I could start my portable generator to keep my sump pumps going.
Its very usefull. U can relax without worrying about if your phone will be stolen, while its charging in public place
Some bad moments
The intent of this app is awesome and works as advertised. I would have given more stars, but I also use my phone as an alarm clock and this app does not seem to work if another app is running in front if it. Maybe the programmers could update so it will work in the background.
I dont usually leave reviews, but I must say this app perfectly combines function and beauty. Simple elegant and user friendly with all the features you would want in a utility app of this sort. I did a lot of research on other similar apps and most fell short of my expectations, but this one hit the nail in the head. Now I can sleep comfortably knowing my daughter wont be left in the cold during a blackout.
Plus as a designer I have a have a love for beauty in simplicity.
I didnt think an app like this existed. But none the less it works! Not a gag app. I live in an area where tornadoes and snow storms can cause real problems with power and with temperatures in sub zero for four days straight I need to keep me and my family safe.
I use the app as a security tether which works well. The app is clean and simple to use. I wish the prompt could be turned off but more of an eye sore than functionality. Background does work with device turned off. I do wish it could be always active in the background long as it is plugged in.
In a storm I can finally sleep without worrying about my sump pump getting out of power and get my basement flooded. I launch the app and leave my cellphone charging, if power goes out the alarm goes off and then I have enough time to get my generator going. Peace of mind.
Pls make options under settings that I can turn sound off permanently because Im deaf & cant hear the alarm. It would be nice to have flashes instead of the sound. I dont have any comment if I like it or not because I just got it. I might say on the comments later.
